PRINCETON, WV – The Mercer County Commission is thrilled to announce the opening of “Furever Fixed,” a low-cost spay and neuter clinic aimed at addressing the stray animal population in Mercer County. This much-anticipated clinic, located at 1003 Shelter Road in Princeton, is now open and accepting appointments.
The clinic is the result of years of dedicated effort by Mercer County leaders and generous support from donors, the county, and the cities of Bluefield and Princeton. “Furever Fixed” offers affordable spay and neuter services for cats starting at $100 and dogs starting at $150.
“We are excited to finally open our doors and provide this vital service to our community,” said Connie Gillespie, Director of Furever Fixed. “The overwhelming response and full waiting list demonstrate the tremendous need for affordable spay and neuter options in our area.”
West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture, Kent Leonhardt, estimates over 11,000 unaltered cats and dogs in Mercer County. “This clinic represents a significant step towards reducing the number of stray animals and promoting responsible pet ownership,” said Leonhardt.
“Furever Fixed” is currently prioritizing appointments from the waiting list. To be added to the waiting list, please email [email protected] or visit the clinic in person between 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
